Quick Facts
- 63% of LGBTQ+ students in Arizona reported experiencing at least 1 form of anti-LGBTQ+ discrimination at their school, according to a 2021 study.
- In the same study, 8% of LGBTQ+ students said they attended a school with a comprehensive anti-bullying/harassment policy that included specific protections based on sexual orientation and gender identity/expression.
- Only 6% had a policy or official guidelines to support transgender and nonbinary students. Source
- 32% of these students had access to a GSA or similar student club which provides a safe and affirming space and promotes a more welcoming school climate for LGBTQ+ students. Source
