STAND & SERVE Central Corridor Initiative

Participants of STAND & SERVE, in partnership with the Arizona Governor's Office, the Arizona Department of Economic Security and METRO light rail, are working on a project called the STAND & SERVE Central Corridor Initiative (SSCCI). This is a youth-led and youth-facilitated coalition of organizations, schools, students, families and community members committed to cultivating a safe, healthy and respectful community. The goals of the Initiative are to mobilize the communities along the metro light rail to develop and adopt strategies that cultivate positive social norms while preventing the onset of substance abuse, suicide, depression, oppression, child abuse, sexual, family, dating, school gang and gun violence, homelessness, vandalism, criminality and the subsequent negative effects.

The coalition meets monthly at the Phoenix Library from 4-5 in Meeting Room A Floor 1. Everyone is welcome. Download the overview for meeting dates and times in 2009.
