Fundraising for Backpack Buddies
In conjunction with the BHHS Legacy Foundation
The Backpack Buddies Fundraising project provides an opportunity
for community involvement for STAND & SERVE participants.
Teens who commit to the project work together to raise funds
to sponsor elementary schools that are eligible for participation
in the Backpack Buddies program. Backpack Buddies is a project
of the Back To School Clothing Drive Association (BTSCDA).
BTSCDA uses funds raised from the community to purchase backpacks,
school supplies and new clothing for students from low-income
families, and distributed them in the summer before school
starts. The BHHS Legacy Foundation is providing funding for
this project, and is also matching the funds raised by S&S
dollar-for-dollar, essentially doubling the number of low-income
children that will be impacted by our fundraising efforts.
All donations are tax deductible, and are eligible for Arizona
state tax credits (check with your financial advisor to see
if your donation qualifies). Donations should be made out
to Legacy Connection in order for S&S to receive the matching
funds from BHHS Legacy Foundation.
