Jennifer Rauhouse, Executive Director, Founder
For 25 years, Jennifer has worked to end violence
before it begins, by cultivating respect and addressing the
underlying causes. She is the founder of Peer Solutions, and
for the past 10 years, she has developed, implemented and
evaluated STAND & SERVE, an asset-driven, evidence-based
approach to school, family and community programming utilizing
the ecological model. Jennifer is currently assisting the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to develop Sexual
Violence Prevention Guidelines and she has just received the
2006 Kris Bell Preventionist of the Year Award for Arizona.
Jennifer has a BA in Sociology of Law from the University
of Minnesota and Secondary Education Certification from ASU.
She believes in creating the change we wish to see: a world

Janet Harayama, Director
Janet first joined Peer Solutions as a volunteer in 1998.
Over a span of four years, Janet continued to support Peer
Solutions in a voluntary capacity by editing curriculum materials,
assisting with program development, and participating in training
activities. In 2002, Janet joined the staff of Peer Solutions as
Director to oversee budgeting and adherence to government
contracts and grants. Janet remains committed to cultivating
positive change. We are all Peers, We are all the Solution!

Sarah Ontiveros Joe, Program Coordinator
Sarah graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelors
degree in Community Health Promotion. She has studied in Costa
Rica and has traveled to Europe, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Due
to her deep love and concern for young people she has enjoyed
working as a Juvenile Detention Officer, Tobacco Prevention
Advocate for the SLC School District, volunteering at the
Native American Bordertown Dormitory in Flagstaff and Anytown
Arizona (formerly NCCJ Arizona). Recently returning to Phoenix
from Salt lake City, Sarah is eager to be part of the positive
social change created by Peer Solutions and the young people

Ginae Klasek, Program Coordinator
Ginae was an assistant teacher in a downtown Phoenix Montessori
school from 2001-2006. She also worked as a child birth assistant,
helping parents before, during, and after child birth. Before
she came to Peer Solutions she was employed as an Account
Manager for a local business in downtown Phoenix. Ginae believes
her true calling is working with youth and is very passionate

Sonia Sandoval, Program Coordinator
Sonia graduated from North High School in 2007 as a recipient
of the International Baccalaureate Diploma. She is currently
enrolled in the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State
University. She hopes to one day merge her love of business
with her passion for helping others. She was a founding member
of STAND & SERVE at North and has since become a member of
our staff. Sonia truly believes our core message of promoting

Alan
Berkowitz: C0-Founder of the Social Norms Theory
Alan D. Berkowitz is a nationally recognized leader,
trainer, and scholar in the development of rape prevention
programs, in fostering men’s responsibility for preventing
violence against women, and in creating healthy and just communities
and workplaces. He is a co-founder of the social norms approach
and Editor of The Report on Social Norms. Alan is often a
keynote speaker for regional and national meetings and has
consulted for the Department of Justice, the Centers for Disease
Control, and numerous state coalitions against sexual assault
and health departments. He has been the recipient of five
national awards in recent years for his work in the sexual
assault prevention, drug prevention, violence prevention and
diversity/prejudice reduction.

Tess L. Ridgway,
CPA – Peer Solution’s Accountant
Tess Ridgway has been Peer Solutions Accountant for
the past eight years. She is a very valuable member of the
Peer Solutions team. Her accounting practice serves individuals,
small businesses and small nonprofit organizations. Professional
services include bookkeeping/consulting, tax advice planning
and preparation, financial reporting form compilations to
audits, including Single Audits.

Gayle Stringer - National Expert,
Mentor
Gayle M. Stringer, M.A., L.M.H.C., is a consultant
in private practice. Her work focuses on sexual violence prevention
using the tools of community development and social change.
She also is a counselor in private practice, treating victims
of child sexual abuse, adults victimized as children, and
working in partnership with traditional healers in her own
Native American community. She has worked in the field of
sexual assault prevention, advocacy and treatment for over
25 years, during which time she has written and trained extensively
on issues related to sexual violence, its prevention and treatment.

Dr. B.J. Tatro
Dr. Tatro is the owner of B.J. Tatro Consulting,
a firm specializing in planning, policy research, program
evaluation, and group process for education, health, and human
services organizations. Clients include a variety of state
and local government entities and numerous community based
organizations. Dr. Tatro received a bachelor’s degree
in psychology and a masters of science in social work from
the University of Louisville and a doctorate in public administration
from Arizona State University. She is currently an instructor
in the Arizona State University Nonprofit Management Institute
and the Advanced Public Executive Program.
