Peer Solutions has a history of uniting communities while
building assets, empowering individuals to take ownership
in long-term solutions, addressing the underlying conditions
of interpersonal violence and promoting prevention and intervention
services utilizing evidence-based strategies.
In 1997, Peer Solutions, with the assistance of the Arizona
Department of Health Services, piloted STAND & SERVE…Demonstrating
Respect as the Norm at Tempe High School in Tempe, Arizona.
From this initial beginning, Peer Solutions has grown to
provide on-going services to 1) All high schools in the Tempe
Union District and North High School in Phoenix, 2) All middle
schools in the Tempe Elementary School District 3) Elementary
schools Thomas J. Pappas and Evans in Tempe and William T.
Machan School (K-8) in Phoenix. I
In 2006, Peer Solutions is facilitating activities with 10
High Schools, 6 Middle Schools, 3 Elementary Schools and ASU
with the support of 20 community partners.
Approximately 25,000 students, staff, family and community
members are exposed to activities annually across Maricopa
County and beyond.
