Hannah Larson

STAND & SERVE Director

Hannah Larson joined Peer Solutions in July of 2009. She has a Bachelors degree in Women's Studies and spent three years working as a Sexual Assault Survivors' Advocate in Eastern Indiana, during which time she was on call 24/7 for survivors of sexual assault to provide emotional support. She also designed and taught a college course which gave students the tools to see and understand the underlying causes and conditions of sexual violence, as well as how sexual violence and all forms of violence and oppression are connected. Hannah has also worked to empower underprivileged girls in the Midwest ages 6-13 to be "strong, smart, and bold" young women through Girls Inc. Through all of this work Hannah has become dedicated to the Primary Prevention of sexual violence by cultivating Safety, Equality, and Respect as norms. She believes that young people have the passion and capability to be positive social change agents, and she wants to walk with them through the process of discovering this within themselves.

Veronica Murillo

STAND & SERVE Coordinator

Veronica Murillo joined Peer Solutions September of 2010. She has a bachelors degree in Human Services and has spent over three years working as a crisis interventionist. She had an internship with the Aurora Police Department as a victim's advocate and afterward stayed as a volunteer before leaving Colorado and moving to Arizona. Her duties there consisted of being on call to assist victims of crimes. Currently she continues her work as a crisis interventionist for the Phoenix Fire Department. Her duties include assisting victims of crime and their families through an emotional hardship. She supplies the families with resources and emotional support. Veronica has definitely seen the aftermath of what violence in all forms can do to the youth and their families, is very supportive of Primary Prevention and very much enjoys working with young people to implement positive solutions.


Jennifer Rauhouse

Executive Director, Founder

In 1981, Jennifer Rauhouse began her work to end sexual, relationship and family violence as well as child and substance abuse, before they begin. She founded Peer Solutions in 1996 and has developed, implemented and evaluated STAND & SERVE (S&S), a locally and nationally awarded school, family and community primary prevention initiative designed to cultivate safety, equality and respect as norms.

Jennifer has provided primary prevention trainings with an emphasis on youth and community mobilization for the following states: Arizona, California, Louisiana, Idaho, Massachusetts, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Kentucky, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming. Since 2005, she has worked with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to edit and reveiew curriculum to assisting with the development of National Sexual and Interpersonal Violence Primary Prevention and Evaluation Guidelines.

Jennifer is currently serving on a committee to update the Culutural Competency Curriculum for the Arizona Department of Behavior Health Services Employees and Providers and on the Advisory Council for the National Sexual Violence Resource Center. Contact:

Shana Tobkin

STAND & SERVE Coordinator

Shana graduated from Arizona State University in 2010 with a B.S. degree in Psychology. Her coursework focused primarily on human development, parenting, child psychology, cultural diversity, and several other sociology courses. Shana highly values community service, and has volunteered her time at homeless shelters, senior citizen centers, a wildlife rehabilitation center, and with several youth programs. While contemplating future career goals, and with community development in mind, Shana discovered Peer Solutions. She worked as an intern for 5 months, and officially joined the team in July 2010. She is fully dedicated to her work with Peer Solutions because she is passionate about community development and service, diversity, resiliency in youth, and positive social change. Furthermore, Shana is committed to primary prevention, empowering youth, and spreading to the community messages of safety, equality, and respect. In order to enhance her work with Peer Solutions, Shana has hopes of returning back to school and receiving a Master’s Degree in Community Psychology.
